Welcome to the Darlington Chamber Music Series for 2017

Welcome all to our 2017 series of concerts and yet again we have a year full of fabulous music and musicians. In concert 1 we present our newly formed string quartet with works of Shostakovich, Haydn and Webern. Unusually this will be held in the small stone church in the Darlington Village as the hall is having some refurbishment.

The piano trio will take the stage in concert 2 with works by Brahms and Respighi. Concert 3 will feature our special guest artists for 2017, a duo consisting of amazing Traditional Irish fiddling with Robert Zielinski on the violin and Philip Waldron on banjo and other instruments. I have personally heard them perform and it is impossible not to be drawn to their amazing sound.

In concert 4 we hear Brahms C minor Piano Quartet and a new work by James Ledger. In the final concert in the series we perform for the first time a septet by Saint Saens which features WASO principal trumpeter Brent Grapes . It’s going to be another collection of memorable concert experiences and of course afternoon teas. I can’t wait! I look forward to seeing you there.
